More Obamacare layoffs

Quote from AK Forty Seven:

Just add 15-20 cents per order as shattner stated or stop being greedy and eat the cost himself

You know if they could get 15-20 cents more per order they would already be doing it.

Yea so the 15 cents a pie reflects the pizzeria direct obama care expense. Unknown is how much will the cost of ingredients to make the pie go up. The supplier has the same obama care expense.

+1

Most here don't understand this.

And where does that 15-20 cents per order come from? Wages are declining under Obama, while food costs are inflating, Where does the consumer come up with 15-20 cents? It sounds trivial but multiply it by every single business, this is typical keynesian fallacy where you can just up the cost by 15-20 cents per order, and it doesnt matter.....

And btw the one whose getting hit by this isnt shattner its the individual owners, who mostly do not have the money to absorb a 10% hike in their food prices.

This is one of the points of beeen trying to get across, but thanks, this sums it up., well said.

Quote from AK Forty Seven:

Nobodys not going to order a pizza over 25 cents

It has nothing to do with the Pizza individually, sure consumers could afford to pay for just the 1 pizza, if that was the only price that was going up due to obamacare,

Now think about a 15-20 percent increase in the cost of every good sold, now where do you think the money comes from, given the fact that there is a limited amount of money amongst consumers in the system.

Quote from Max E. Pad:

Yeah, and like i said, 11-14 cents a pizza is the equivalent of 10% added to their food costs, what is it that you dont understand? In order to sell 10% more food you need 10% more employees,(who will also need healthcare) and you need 10% more space, and you need 10% more ovens, etc.. etc.... Do you not get it?

You've never worked in or owned a restaurant have you? Your math doesn't factor in the slow periods restaurants have. You do not need 10% extra across the board to handle a 10% rise in costs. The inverse is true. The existing staff would be able to easily handle a 10% increase in menu prices because that will likely put a damper on customer volume.

Here is an excercise for you dipshit, go through a phone book which is 2 years old and start calling up pizza joints, and other restaraunts, first off, many of the phone numbers will say they no longer exist, scondly ask when they last changed management.

Then take a drive down the bar/restauraunt strip for your area, and look at how many have changed names/management or how many vacant buildings you see in the last couple years.

How many more people do you think are on the edge, its simple math buddy, and i know far more about this industry than you ever will, so dont throw out b.s. like this without backing it up.

Here is an exercise for you, quit making shit up and pulling numbers out of your ass.

I was alluding to a 10% added cost, without passing it along to the consumer. If you decide to keep things the same you still need to sell 10% more to make up for the cost.

If you pass the 10% cost along to the consumer, provided you were priced at equillibrium, you will take an equal hit in terms of goods sold, i.e. 10% loss in sales, which in the case you described means they could drop a bunch of workers, and their size, but they would see less profit.

Do you really think that Pizza guys dont know their equillibrium price points?

You are the least intelligent person i have ever come across on this site, why dont you go light your neighbors house on fire, to stimulate the economy so we can pay for Obamacare.
