Without being catty but I often wonder about some things a really right wing guy described (real world acquaintance) about his father's absence and how he wanted someone older than him (and white) in the White House to make him feel safe.

It is a broad brush and I don't want to get personal but I get a gnawing feeling a lot of the obsessive/extreme right guys have such issues. Its not about facts, it is about feeling safe under what they personally perceive as a strong leader.
