More guns not equal to more deaths

Did you listen to what the guy from the FBI, who had conducted a related study, had to say?

Yes. It was hard to find the objectiveness around the Daily Show snark (they clearly are trying to push a position, it's not like this is an objective report). However, in his 3% number, he's merging ALL shooter events and saying 3% of the time a good guy with a gun stopped the attack. How many times was there no one with a gun around but the bad guy? Additionally, even if it were 3%, that would still be 3% better chance than with a gun.

As for the examples where the reporter tried to respond to a live shooter, that "simulation" was hilariously inaccurate, and the reporter clearly wanted nothing to do with a firearm. His "dancing away" during one of the encounters shows he wasn't serious.

Again, it was an entertaining watch. But much less factual than it was probably perceived by you to be. I practice rigorously with firearms, and I know better.

Additionally, multiple law enforcement agency heads have come out recently urging citizens to carry a weapon. They seem to be at odds with the guy from ALERT in this video.

Maybe so, and that's a plus if you carry and have your head on straight. But I suspect that this would make you more of an exception than the rule. It's the "rule" that I'm more concerned about.

I have no doubt that there are some real idiots out there carrying a weapon around. I think they are the minority by far. The ones that have a good head and good intention that are small on practice are much more common. There are concerns I have on those people in terms of their training, but they are not "assholes" like the article stated. They would likely add more protection, even if it were through luck.

There are stats out there on CCW holders that have committed crimes with guns. It's almost non-existent.

Which guns would you have banned? When it is a hand gun used the left wants hand guns banned. When it's the so called assault rifle, they want assault rifles banned. Far as I know the left is okay with shotguns and long rifles. Correct me if I'm wrong, but those weapons can do a bunch of killing too. So if we get rid of the hand guns and AR, next up are the shotguns and long rifles which will be used in the crimes. Then what? And down the slippery slope we go.
In your opinion, is a shotgun an effective home defense weapon?

Progressive taxation and affirmative action are driving factors of gun homicides according to the right?
No, they are socialistic ideas that are prominent enough to get the right's attention. Ergo, the left has presented ideas.

Ok. I just don't know what the hell it has to do with guns and gun violence.
