Wrong again FC. Even when giving to the church is eliminated from the equation studies still show that the conservative-liberal difference still holds. As far as I am aware churches do not take a donation of blood--the Red Cross does. Difference still holds.

Wrong again shorty. Liberals give more for things like storm relief and secular causes.

Regardless. Charity is not near enough to meet demands. Charity can't even make up for the drop in food stamps. When it comes to practical substantive policy to help the poor, conservatives run away and cheer when programs are cut.
Quote from jem:
we have had constant increase in govt give aways and we have a larger and seemingly worse of lower lower class.
if we turned off the govt and relied on charity perhaps families would need to have a man with a job around the house.
then society would be better off.
Liberalism / stupid socialist thinking like your fc has destroyed our cities and the poor.
its time to return to workfare and individual charity.
Quote from futurecurrents:
Yes the best thing for the needy is to give them less. I think Jesus said that.
"Do unto others and then split".

Quote from jem:
Jesus told us to help the poor. I do not recall a single passage in which jesus advocated for higher taxes. I did not recall Jesus telling people to rely on Ceasar.
Look what big Roman govt and the cronies who ran the temple did to Jesus.
You think Jesus was in favor of big govt. Big Govt becomes more and more oppressive as it becomes more and more powerful.
You are fricken idiot if you have not that from history.
Quote from futurecurrents:
Yes, I understand. Your brand of Christianity means everyone for themselves and saying to hell with the poor. I know how you view Christianity. You think, in your warped, cynical, fucked-up way that the best Christians on earth are frauds and two-faced. You think doing what Jesus would do is horrible socialism. You think aid to the needy -best delivered via the big bad govt - should be cut. Typical hypocritical, religious righty.
"You will be cast to hell for I was hungry and you did not feed me..."
