Who is "us" in your statement?

Your true nature was revealed yesterday on the par of a 2 year screaming to get his own way. Testimonies - past, present, future of so called users of your services pale in comparison in seeing your immature, unprofessional and vulgar ways. I don't have to be a former "customer" to tell you bluntly that I don't like you and your snake oil salesmanship. Take your 25.00 grift prize and pin it on your pet snake.

As was pointed out yesterday by a very astute member, the offending threads that ubsurdly took over ET yesterday won't be closed, they willl be deleted. Integrity falls to the almighty advertising dollar.

You hear these comments time and again... Then, when someone does answer their critics by posting their numbers (botter screenshots, monthly statements, etc) like Diamondtrim did a few weeks ago, then he is called a liar and accused of fabricating the information. It's a no-win situation, and not worth the fight, IMO.

This is really not just about Brandon...

This is about the credibility of the short term trading business...

Any accountant can only laugh at the typical vendor in the stock trading business that tries to sell advise...

The idea of successfully trading... interests a lot of people and thus the headline sells...particularly when it doesn´t cost much to question...Seminars..books...tapes...cds....etc..

It is a very easy thing to do to simply provide monthly statement copies on a continuous basis...

What needs to be formed is a simple database of wannabe vendors with their corresponding statements...This would go a long way to providing more credibility to this business....

Those vendors who are not listed simply would not be taken seriously by the public....

I think that those who argue against such as simple system..are wannabe vendors that just do not have these simple records..and they know that this type of simple system would destroy any supposed credibility they now have....

ET has done a good job of providing a free speech forum....and it would be another good thing if they had a database of vendors that can/have provided representative monthly statements...

I will have to side up wit Eric on this. My experience: I posted my audited results for two periods, over two and half years and for one more full year. My reasoning for doing this was, first period was what I described in Techniques of Tape Reading; second was the year the book was published. So I felt I needed to demonstrate that the results were real. Now, what did I get out of this? Two things.

First, more or less expected. Accusations that I could have more trading accounts and showed just one of them. Not even speaking of how ridiculous it is for a scalper/daytrader to do active trading in two accounts at the same time, I faced wierd task of proving the negative. Document from all the brokers in USA that I didn't have accounts with them?? :D

Second, unexpected (at least for me at that time). ZERO change in the paterns of subsricption for what I had to offer. Yeah, people nodded, OK, you are legit. That's it. Logical assumption "show your results, people will flock in" didn't work. I don't know why and as a trader don't care about whys. That's how it went. Maybe those who asked never intended to buy anything anyway; and for those who did intend to buy this was not a crucial factor. In business things are not always that obvious. One chain spends money to make their stores attractive, another CHARGES customers for shopping in warehouse-like premises - you think latter one is doomed? Look at Costco :)

Anyway, going with the flow, I do not do that anymore - what's the point? I have those old results up still but am not going to run around validating myself over and over again. Just don't feel the need and don't see the results anyway.

I dont think that is the case at all. I have had some posts I did not like I did not ask for them to be removed. What happened yesterday was a mess though and I do not see a reason it has to continue to polute ET. This thread is just turning into part 2 of yesterdays crap, and hopefully it goes to the same place they did. You guys still bitch and whine like little kids, and still can not put forth a single person who has a legit complaint againt me.

I want to mention this again. I have posted my opinion before, but each time Brandon requests that the thread be closed. :D

In a former life I was trained as an engineer. In that profession, you work to obtain clients, and to get future work, you have to rely on word of mouth and the testimony of satisfied customers. I suggest that anyone who is considering using a service vendor ask for references. I like to get a list of 5 satisfied customers. Then I take the time to investigate. I ask them what their experience was like, and whether they feel the vendor added value. I also ask what their current status is today (are they still benefitting from the service?). I have found over time, that it is better to talk to a person on the phone and hear their voice in response to my questions. This method has never failed me.

The reason I do not want to see audited trading reports, is that I believe a person is entitled to some privacy.

I believe that in every business, there are people who are men and women of character, and they are the ones we should seek out for help. When I need a product or service, this is the way I find it.

I realize that this is not the majority view.
