I'm a pilot as well. Got some time in metroliners but haven't flown in awhile. The last 2-years I've been in the F-35 simulator for 2-hours per week. Thats as close as I come anymore.

The first year or so I stayed locked in the pattern doing approaches for my whole time slot. Now we just fly straight to the Grand Canyon and play fuckaround lol.

I recently flew the STOVL variant and it was alot of fun once we figured out that it was necessary to burn fuel down before entering the vertical regime. I can put the thing down right in the middle of the helo box on a moving ship. They made it really easy to handle.
