By far the best option is missing from your poll, keep people home until testing and protective supplies are greatly ramped up, 4 to 6 weeks, then test, test, and test some more. Especially, the asymptomatic need to be tested -- the exact opposite of what we are doing! If someone tests positive for the virus but no symptoms, they need to be quarantined through the incubation period then tested again for anti-bodies, if still asymptomatic.

Testing 265Mil people every day or 2 at the most is kinda tricky and expensive and any less than that, just isn't worth doing, it's worth it for compiling stat's but that's about it.

Anti Bodies test, then saying you've had it, here is a ID Badge, you can go back to work, walk around, go to the pub, avoid the cues to get into tesco's on the other hand, very useful.

less expensive than a Depression or putting a million on ventilators, and the outcome is far better. The frequency of required testing drops exponentially with time if you do this. We could do it. We are not!

Still big numbers, your still thinking about stopping the spread, you'll miss 1 person, someone from elsewhere on holiday will have it, then repeat all over again.

It's not a Stop anyone getting it's not the plague deal, it's let everyone have it at a reduced controlled rate, then when you've had it, your vaccinated and can't get again, or easily spread it to others.

Sooner health people get it, sooner the high risk can come back out and the sooner the world can get back to normal.

We are very good at thinking of reasons not to do something we should. I have a lot of reasons I haven't started doing my taxes yet. I'm still going to have to do them.

Already had get these things out the early on.

I propose a version of the first option where the vulnerable (sick, old, etc) self isolate while the rest of us get back to work. We can then deploy resources towards those who are most vulnerable.

One medical doctor with 27 years of private practice said, keeping people cooped up will result in more deaths, because people will pay the rent/mortgage before they buy needed medicine.
Also, an additional pattern- sanctuary cities/state are hardest hit.

This is California Governor's playbook. California went directly to a Korean contractor buying hundreds of thousands of test kits, some already supplied to hospitals. California also asked Elon Musk to build ventilators.....
