We should understand the bizarre episode of the past election and first 11 months of the Trump Presidency as a warning of our terrible vulnerability and the fragile nature of our American Republic. He tells his constituents that the political process, a process by which he himself was elected, is "rigged"; he disparages the integrity of our Intelligence Community, State Department, and FBI; he refers to our public servants as "very bad people"; he incites violence at his rallies; he disparages the press and calls its exposure of his constant lies "fake news"; he appoints as agency heads those who will dismantle the agencies they head; he appoints judges and advisors on the basis of loyalty instead of experience and qualifications; and now he supports a U.S. Senate Candidate that has twice been removed from the Alabama Supreme Court; a man who is a morally bankrupt liar like himself.

Exactly. The right wingers don’t understand who Donald Trump is and what he is doing. They are completely blind to all the damage being done to this country just as long as they get policies that hurt poor people and minorities. They want the circus.

What is this damage you speak of? Obama's policies hurt responsible white people, eg the people paying for Obama's free stuff. Were you moaning about Obama targeting white people? Throwing coal miners out of work and into the opioid crisis.

Trump is a one man wrecking crew. He has appointed secretaries that will dismantle the environment, justice, foreign relations and the economy. He has damaged relations with our longest and strongest allies and provoked our enemies. He has proposed cutting healthcare for the poor and disabled. He has divided the country. I could go on and on. The man is a disaster and an embarrassment.

Actually he is doing exactly what he promised to do. He "divided the country", did he? Because liberals refused to respect the results of the election, somehow that is his fault?

Country has been divided for a long long time before Trump came around. People are looking for somebody to actually do things and he is delivering.

Well we will find out exactly how those results came to be sooner or later.
 
We'll know soon. If election turns out badly we'll need to find another way to keep the agenda going. We really need more conservative seats in both houses so we'll need to work hard in 2018.
