If they were erected during Jim Crow and civil rights movements with the sole purpose to trigger people seeking their rightful place, why the fuck are our black brothers and sister paying taxes for upkeep? Were they put up contemporaneously following a battle to commemorate the inhabitant's fallen? We'll need to have a conversation about it first.

Destruction of private property:
Don't condone it but understand it. If peaceful protests fall on deaf ears and the bargaining power of the people through legislation has been sold to the highest corporate bidder, you end up with a "let them eat cake" situation.

This I got problem with. Your 1st amendment that allows you to congregate and yell at inanimate objects is granted by a document written by slave owners. As is your right to private property, land owning, due process, voting, etc.... So if the beef is that the anthem was written by a slave owner, we'll be tearing down the pyramids. If every other democracy that followed ours is the result of ideas first proposed & implemented by slave owners & their ideas are to be invalidated, we'll revert to Somalia in no time.
