Monetary union has left half of Europe trapped in depression

What could have been an excellent discussion is tainted by nationalist posts.

I find it odd that all those so eager to bash the US fail to recognize the same symptoms in their backyard. Excuse me. Did I say "same"? I meant "far worse".

An excellent discussion the one that starts with an article from Ambrose Evans-Pritchard ?

That guy is the most famous euro-hater of the web, he writes 2 articles a week against the euro since the year 2000 :D

By thursday he will have written another identical article :D

Don't like him? Fine, discuss why. Be civil. Offer dissenting viewpoints.

But posts that simply spam "Germans will win all in the end hahahaha" and the like don't accomplish much.

In Lithuania, riot police fired rubber-bullets on a trade union march. Dogs chased stragglers into the Vilnia river.

USSR was self sufficient in cabbage.
Chronic food shortages that prompted them to import many millions of tons of grains from the West contradict your claims, unless you meant it as a facetious remark.

We'll always be ruled by elites, the question is (in the case of EU),
do you want to be ruled by elites an ocean away, or the ones on your doorstep?
Divide and concour.
The general idea of the EU is a great one, financial problems are being expirienced all over the world, since when is Britain the saviour of Europe?
