Quote from tomdavis:
And millions of people who can't do math.
According to FBI statistics, an average of 150 people are killed each year in mass killings (4 or more) with guns,
According to NCAR (the National Center for Atmospheric Research) about 400 people get hit by lightning each year.
You're 2.6 times more likely to get hit by lightning than you are to be "slaughtered" in a theater or school or anywhere else.
According to your logic, people went from thinking cops are "pigs" and to be feared all the way to saying cops are the only ones who should have guns all because of, literally, a one-in-a-million event. If that's true, then there's no underestimating the stupidity of the American public.
The dumbing of America started in the 60's, and continues to this day. Problem is, the dumbing has been supercharged over the last ten years. Anyone with common sense will KNOW that is a bad, BAD problem.
