MMT is lunacy and other quips by NNT

Can't watch it. Whoever recorded it didn't do it correctly, and there is this awful looping feedback of audio that kills me ears.

Bummer.

Well, he's not adept at producing quality recordings for people who have sensitive ears. I don't like him. :-(

We with sensitive hearing need soothing musiks and sounds. :-)

 
Taleb? The problem with Trump is not that he's a horrible business man, but that he brags about what a great business man he is, when in reality he's simply a very successful con artist. Is the reason Taleb gets defensive about folks who lose money because he himself has been wrong so often and lost so much of his investors money? And what Teleb doesn't understand about MMT is monumental. MMT is not a new idea. It's not an idea at all. It's an explanation of how fiat money is working right now in the U.S. and other economies in contrast to the way commodity money worked in the past. Most people, including most older economists, think fiat money works like commodity based money. They think that the government borrows to spend. It used to, of course, but it no longer does, nor does it need to. Treasury Bonds serve an entirely different purpose than most people think they do.
 
My God you really are a NPC. Taleb simply is saying that fragility is built into a system with low skin in the game like MMT. The convexity of the payoff (hyperinflation) can happen in hours.
