Quote from Doug Allen:
What specifically do you think is crap?
It's really very simple.
I have money to invest. I don't want to put it into another hedge fund where there's no transparency. I'm interested in finding undiscovered traders who might be able to trade the money in a managed account. If I do find a trader or two, I'm going to make available Patty to give them 1-on-1 coaching if it makes sense.
And once I started seeing the answers to the questions people filled out, it became apparent that a lot of people would be interested, and would benefit, from some basic coaching from Patty. Keep in mind that Patty's a master trainer for Tony Robbins so she really doesn't need to be trolling around here in ET looking for work.
I'm not selling anything, and Patty isn't either. She's already booked solid with clients, and only offered to help because I asked her and because we're friends.
I've asked for nothing from anybody here, and I've offered to add value to other people. This is more than I can say for the small group of "naysayers" who are terrified that what I'm offering is legitimate, and that other traders will be chosen and will succeed. My guess is that the most vocal critics of what I'm doing are probably the people who, if forced to show their track record, would be exposed as poor traders.
I can also tell you that from the hundreds of PMs I've received, and from all the people who answered the questionnaire, the LARGE majority of people here on ET are genuinely good people. They are the silent majority that doesn't need to anonymously slam people on internet forums to feel better about themselves. They are the people with the courage to step up and throw their hat in the ring. And ultimately it will from this group that successful traders may be found.
