Clearly he has no understanding of the law, but this does keep his sorry ass in the spotlight for awhile longer, which is all he's got left. Another McCain type that just won't ride off into the sunset. The ego these fucks have is astounding.
Romney is a sore loser. Massively butthurt by Trump.
So now his only way to get any attention is to be the odd guy out on issues.
You reference to McCain is right on. McCain lost and hung around and try to be Mr. Bipartisan by being unpredictable and wishy washy and obstreperous. Refer to his vote preventing the dismantling of Obamacare. Yeh, what else could he do to get any attention.
Romney is not up for re-election for another four years or so and may retire anyway.
Whereas Doug Jones in Alabama just announced that he is going to vote to convict but is up for re-election in November. That is sort of a win/win for both repubs and dems, I think. The dems get his solidarity on voting against Trump, but the republicans get to run against him in Alabama on it. Fine. Let the games begin. The voters can sort it out.
