This partial disclosure, good bad or indifferent, does nothing to cancel out his serial flip flopping. Not sure how anyone can trust a man who changes positions as much as Romney has and not sure how this disclosure mitigates that. Can you elaborate?
Well, I fault him for his pandering as much as I fault all politicians. But to me, pandering is on a completely different level than tax evasion and bribery.
In terms of Mitt changing political stance on certain issues, it really seems to me that most people aren't considering the entire picture in context. He is not just a passive Mormon, he is obviously devout in his religious observance. It would then be expected that he is pro-life, anti-gay marriage, etc... There is a reason that Utah is considered the reddest state in the nation, liberals are very much the exception in the Mormon church.
He was running in Mass which is often considered the bluest state in the nation. Pandering to voters who disagree with you is an unfortunate requirement for politicians at any high level. My personal opinion is that he has always been pro-life and anti-gay marriage, but that he was pandering for votes in Mass.
To me, the global warming thing is completely understandable. We actually have so little knowledge of what effects our global climate, that I allow everyone the privilege of having an evolving opinion on global warming.
But I'm also one of those crazy nut cases who believes that you can tell a lot more by how a person lives their life than what they say. No matter how hard his opponents try to dig up dirt on him, his life is a model for consistency and conviction. It's simply too bad that his politics don't present the same.
