Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia, Ohio, Alabama passing 6 week abortion ban bills

You have been wrong on 90 % of your posts about the law. I am not making predictions or declaring what this court will do...because I understand it's very hard to predict the outcome on such a charged issue.

Roe v. Wade was a contrived holding by an activist court which needs modification to match up with the science and the constitution per many "experts". Then there are experts on the other side too.

Most experts realize this court is made up of a majority of justices who would tend to be in the former group...so they would tend to want to scale Roe back....but they may not because of how it might divide the country.


If they choose to leave Roe the way it is they will write about stare decisis... if they choose to modify Roe they will discuss how the science has changed...so Roe needed to be updated. If they say it should be left up to the states they will go through the history of it and how the founders were aware of abortion and left it up to each state because health safety and welfare is left to each state.

It's masquerading as the Due Process Clause of the 14 Amendment! This clause protects against the States intrusion on the right of privacy, including a women's "qualified" right to terminate her pregnancy. According to the Court that is.. Sorry jem, too bad you weren't around 151 years ago when you might have been able to head this thing off "at the pass"* as they say. Too late now! It's already in the Constitution.

yes, I am an expert on other other side, as you say, but sadly only in comparison with you jemmy.

P.S. If they "update" Roe, as you suggest they may, it sure as hell won't be 6 weeks!!! That would be absurd!!! AND, if we have learned anything in our 200+ year history, it is that it would be a mistake to leave up to the States any important issue on which the intellectual 10% of the country breaks radically from the unwashed masses. At least until someone takes scissors to the map of the union and cuts away West Virginia, Arkansas, Texas, and all of the Deep South*. Why is it that there are only three truly reasonable States, Colorado, Massachusetts, and California? I maintain it is the school systems. You should move Jemmy. You don't belong in California.

*On second thought, I am mistaken. I have left off Florida.

N.B./ to the sane fraction of ET members. Jem, has gone over the hill. In his mind, abortion is murder, so he now proposes, in effect, that murder should be an option left up to the States; thus in some States murder will be just fine, and in others, not so much. o_O

a. If I were bringing my personal beliefs about homicide and religion into this... I would be arguing the court should ban abortion.
But, I am not arguing that... you clown.

b. As a US Citizen... I believe the court should follow the constitution independent of religious or anti religion beliefs.

Since the founders were aware of the practice of abortion and it was not explicitly carved out for the Federal Govt... under the US Constitution... I and many others believe the matter is properly let to the states.

and note...

I live in CA ... there is little doubt if the US Sup Court leaves it up to the states it will be legal in my state. And that is fine.

As a person who loves our constitutional republic I am happy to be part of something like that... despite my personal beliefs. I realize as a rabid partisan you can't understand how some people may argue against their own beliefs... but some of us love the Constitution and are grateful we were born into a republic governed by it and not activists or politicians.
