No one has mentioned this yet, but there is also the scenario where a resident, who did not want to get rid of the police, becomes the victim of a crime, serious or otherwise, and sues the city. And what if this results in a class action for all future crime victims?

Just thinking out loud. Haven't researched things like immunity, etc.

The dems are going to fix everything by electing Joe Biden, the guy who cosponsored the super predator bill that ended out with the mass incarceration of a entire generation of blacks. I guess this is what Joe means when he says "I have experience." Maybe Kamala the Cop will be there to help him, if not VP, well then there is always Attorney General. Lock em Shankala. We know you can do it.

I don't think most reasonable people are asking for abolishment of the police. The mayor caught flack for not answering the question of defunding and instead deflecting towards "getting rid of the cops". A commitment to demilitarize and downsize would likely have been met with favorable response
