In regard to that silly meme, people said the same silly things about the Taproot upgrade for BTC. Which was one of the reasons that it took so long to do. And of course, they said the same thing about Ethereum after the DAO hack when Vitalik proposed the new hard-fork.
Look what happened to ETC ever since... Some people just hate progress & improvement. There can be a valid reason for this, companies like Apple tend to fuck-shit-up with their newer updates/products all the time. People are right to worry about them.

It's not a silly meme. There is simply no substitute to doing the work. If you're gonna have open heart surgery, do you want the guy who has all the books and access to YouTube videos in how to do it, or do you want the surgeon who has done 500 of these operations already? There is a reason why we want miners who invest lots of resources to be maintaining the blockchain. We don't just want to delegate someone.
That's odd. Aren't all those billboards LEDs by now? LEDs are a super-efficient bulb design. How can they be using that much power for LED signage?
