The noise produced by the ASIC miner can reach more than 80 decibels. Most of the miners such as Ebit E9, Antminer S9, A3, and D3 use a
120mm cooling fan for heat dissipation, and the speed of the fan can reach Above 6000 RPM. The rapid cutting of the air by the fan blades produces a lot of noise. Take the Antminer S9 as an example: the ambient temperature is greater than 25 degrees, and the noise can reach more than 95 decibels. In the silent night, the noise of the miner can be heard clearly at a distance of 300 meters without being blocked, and it can also be transmitted to the ears of neighbors when the door is closed in the room. In order to reduce the noise of miner rigs, the vast number of miners exerted their superhuman wisdom to produce various noise reduction equipment. Straight-through noise reduction box
The straight-through noise reduction box is the earliest noise reduction scheme, intuitive and straightforward, and can reduce the noise by more than 20 decibels;
Advantages: simple structure, simple production process;
Disadvantages: large area, low fire safety factor and the miner's control board are prone to overheating in a confined space.
Labyrinth noise reduction box
The labyrinth-type noise reduction box has the best noise reduction effect among all noise reduction schemes, and the sound needs to be turned around several times to come out! So it’s okay to put the miner in the bedroom to sleep. But it weighs more than 80 kilograms, covers an area of more than 1 square, and is difficult and costly to produce.
Advantages: good mute effect;
Disadvantages: large area, low fire safety factor, high cost, the high temperature displayed by miners.
Water-cooled, oil-cooled noise reducer
Using water or oil as the heat carrier, the heat generated by the hash board chips flows in a fixed pipe, which is the basic principle of this scheme. However, the utilization rate of water-cooled and oil-cooling noise reduction schemes is not high. Due to the influence of the law of conservation of energy, it is still necessary to perform air-cooled fan heating on the water and oil heat carriers. The volume of the air-cooled exhaust required varies according to the miner's power. Generally, miners larger than 1000W need more than 12 fans with a speed of 3000 rpm.

Advantages: The air-cooled exhaust can be placed outdoors to isolate noise;
Disadvantages: complex production, damage to the miner's warranty, high cost, and finally air-cooled heat dissipation.
Wind tunnel noise reducer
The structure of the wind tunnel noise reducer is straightforward. A
fan speed simulator is used to keep the main board working, and then a
negative pressure fan with an air volume of more than 650 square meters can be connected. The wind tunnel type has a relatively significant noise reduction effect and a small footprint. A single wind tunnel cannot be used for miners larger than 1600W. It is suitable for the Antminer series, but it requires a large-size wind tunnel for the Whatsmienr series, or the double wind tunnel pushes the wind.
Advantages: easy installation, noticeable noise reduction effect, no damage to the miner's warranty, low temperature of the miner, stable work;
Disadvantages: Cannot be used for miners with power greater than 1600W.
Immersion type water cooling, oil cooling
Put the miner in water or oil and heat it with a circulating fan. The production difficulty is low, and the effect is ideal. However, immersion oil cooling has tremendous fire pressure; the consequences could be disastrous. The immersion-type water cooling has no fire risk. Still, the requirements for equipment are relatively high, and a deionizer is required to continuously remove ions in the water to keep the water non-conductive.
Advantages: good noise reduction effect, does not destroy the warranty;
Disadvantages: oil-cooling has a high risk of fire prevention and high cost of water-cooling.
ANC Active Noise Canceller
The ANC active noise reduction technology is a little overkill for miners' noise reduction. The realization principle is that 16 microphones are placed around the miners to collect the noise. The waveform opposite the noise is calculated through single-chip computer filtering to cancel the noise. At present, the ANC active noise reducer has more significant shortcomings. There must be a distance greater than 1.5 meters between each device. Otherwise, they will affect each other. The complexity of 16-channel acquisition, calculation, and energy conversion has reached an unimaginable level. If this technology is used on more noisy occasions, it will achieve more significant results.
Advantages: noticeable noise reduction effect;
Disadvantages: large area and high cost.
Miner Mute machine
The most troublesome thing in the home environment is the high pitch produced by the high-speed rotating cooling fan blades. The cargo volume provides the air needed to cool the processor to work safely and minimize the noise level. This product is suitable for cryptocurrency mining in urban areas. You only need to remove the miner’s original fan to use this product, with high heat dissipation efficiency and low noise.
Advantages: The miners are silent, effectively preventing the operation of big fans such as the Antminer.
