Hi everyone my name is Richard nice to meet you all . I'm wondering how miners are able to reduce noise or what can be done about it ?
I live in a terraced house my wife and two kids, both are in their own bedrooms but you can hear the neighbor's at times through the upstairs walls when its quiet during the day . Any help would be appreciated
 
Having difficulty understanding your question. Is it the neighbors that are making the noise? Or is it your own mining rig that's making the noise?

The labyrinth-type noise reduction box has the best noise reduction effect among all noise reduction schemes, and the sound needs to be turned around several times to come out! So it’s okay to put the miner in the bedroom to sleep. But it weighs more than 80 kilograms, covers an area of more than 1 square, and is difficult and costly to produce.

Water-cooled, oil-cooled noise reducer

Using water or oil as the heat carrier, the heat generated by the hash board chips flows in a fixed pipe, which is the basic principle of this scheme. However, the utilization rate of water-cooled and oil-cooling noise reduction schemes is not high. Due to the influence of the law of conservation of energy, it is still necessary to perform air-cooled fan heating on the water and oil heat carriers. The volume of the air-cooled exhaust required varies according to the miner's power. Generally, miners larger than 1000W need more than 12 fans with a speed of 3000 rpm.

Wind tunnel noise reducer

The structure of the wind tunnel noise reducer is straightforward. A fan speed simulator is used to keep the main board working, and then a negative pressure fan with an air volume of more than 650 square meters can be connected. The wind tunnel type has a relatively significant noise reduction effect and a small footprint. A single wind tunnel cannot be used for miners larger than 1600W. It is suitable for the Antminer series, but it requires a large-size wind tunnel for the Whatsmienr series, or the double wind tunnel pushes the wind.

Immersion type water cooling, oil cooling

Put the miner in water or oil and heat it with a circulating fan. The production difficulty is low, and the effect is ideal. However, immersion oil cooling has tremendous fire pressure; the consequences could be disastrous. The immersion-type water cooling has no fire risk. Still, the requirements for equipment are relatively high, and a deionizer is required to continuously remove ions in the water to keep the water non-conductive.

Advantages: good noise reduction effect, does not destroy the warranty;

Disadvantages: oil-cooling has a high risk of fire prevention and high cost of water-cooling.

ANC Active Noise Canceller

The ANC active noise reduction technology is a little overkill for miners' noise reduction. The realization principle is that 16 microphones are placed around the miners to collect the noise. The waveform opposite the noise is calculated through single-chip computer filtering to cancel the noise. At present, the ANC active noise reducer has more significant shortcomings. Depends on whether you rent or own, whether they are considerate or not and what your relationship is with them. I'd probably start by downloading some acoustic software to measure what your baseline is.

Your budget will determine what you can do.

Hard barriers with multi-density layers - closer to the source work best. Sound travels many paths and their floors, walls and ceilings act like amplifiers if not insulated.

I'd prolly gift them isolators for the feet of the shelves that hold their rigs, that will help a lot with sub frequency vibrations. Heavy landscaping pavers with a rubber pad separating them from the floor is a lower cost solution.

On either side, another layer of drywall 5/8" while using acoustic insulating "chauk" is the first layer. This is after filling the wall cavities with denser cellulose insulation.

The second 5/8" drywall layer is offset from the wall with special metal channels, one can use standard metal studs but the special channels have less of a profile. Every fastener also needs attention of whether it will be a path for vibrations to travel. Silicone helps to change the composite material density and helps reduce the sound path.

To finish on your side would be heavy drapes.

You could also just get a pink noise generator or a water fountain to mask what comes through as a low cost option.

In a past life, I've also done sound insulation work to minimize a dance studio's music from their neighbors noise complaints. I'm pretty sensitive to sound so all the above are steps I've had to take to create a more peaceful environment.

I am pretty sure he meant he can hear his neighbours which means it's vice versa. The way he sentenced it "was" a bit confusing.
