Milton Friedman dies

The man was a genius, and a warrior for freedom. I saw his interview w/ Charlie Rose last year....even at his age, the guy was sharp at a tack.

Freedom loving people will miss you.

On Book-TV (C-Span2), I remember seeing Brian Lamb (?) interview Friedman, probably in connection with his and his wife's autobiography being published. I just checked the Book-TV schedule and it appears that there is going to be a 3-hour slot called "In Depth: Milton Friedman," which may be a repeat of the program I saw several years ago. It is scheduled for noon on Sunday.

What a brilliant man, I attribute a lot of the USA's departure from socialism-like behavior during the carter years, to capitalism and a better economy to him

I personally disagreed with many of his findings although I found his arguments and research to be stimulating. He was a nice man with good intentions.

Perhaps we could start by having you tell us about YOUR Nobel Prize in Economics.

In what year did you win?

Also could you tell us where you obtained your doctorate in Economics?

Perhaps you have a Master's degree.

or maybe you were a child prodigy and stopped with a Bachelor's degree.

I don't know if any Nobel Prize winners were "home schooled" but I guess you could have been the first.

I know we are all very interested in knowing where Dr. Friedman went wrong.

Milton Friedman advocated a diminishing role for governments while working for government departments and a government (taxpayer) funded university.

Judgement Day comes to us all, even the Nobel prize winners.

It's ironic but he did much more for the poor than mother teresa and that is truly his greatest accomplishment. He bettered the lives of tens of millions of poor around the globe by helping bring increased capitalism into various third world countries...
