Millions made, much of the world seen, what now?

A lot of what they say is true enough though I am not the type to sit cross legged wearing a silk gown :)

Beyond just the physical body health, the mind I believe needs a lot of exercise. My mother used to play bridge, did a lot of voluntary admin work for arts groups. My dad worked very hard often doing exacting statistical work and was at the golf course when not working.

I like relatively/very short term trading and on a lot of instruments in parallel. Keeping a lot of "balls in the air" not because it is the best way to trade but because it exercises my mind the best. Something I was severely lacking in my old consultant life where I was working hard & long hours but not truly exercising my mind.

It was only with trading did I begin to understand why some guys (way smarter) like say Warren Buffet had TERRIBLE diets, packing in calories. http://www.businessinsider.com/eating-like-billionaire-warren-buffett-diet-2017-10

If you are really working your mind it devours fatty foods and sugar and I have experienced that. It is amazing but I'm not Warren Buffet, I can only boom and bust what his physiology can talk consistently. I think that is a lesson, being smart enough helps however the top guys perhaps have a super-human liver etc. which works in tandem with talent.
Thank you for sharing. How old was your mother when she stopped to play bridge? My dear friend, 97 years old beautiful British offshore lady, stopped to play a couple of years ago, because "all of them dead". And her memory is much better than mine! Maybe bridge is one of the secrets?
I would add spirit is the center, then the mind and body at the end. You can skip a silk gon, lol, and just stand and try tapping for 3 minutes for 21 days
. I am sure Hemingway would give a try.
Trading for sure is the best to keep mind sharped, especially as you do with many instruments. I am still on only on ES for now or NQ.

I think the mind plays a very important role in health, and that probably more people are medicated than need to be. But to suggest that the mind can heal almost every disease is over the top.

"Energy medicine?" Sounds a bit woo-woo. I hope there are some valid underpinnings for the fairly extraordinary claims.
Where are you coming from, FF? Does Quantum Physics sound like Halloween to you too? If so, you are missing great tool available to us in today world.

It is already proven many time, spirit and then the mind. If you really interested I can make a little excursion for you after trading.

You're a better man than I am. Very short term, I start running into trouble with more than one instrument. Like trying to catch butterflies going in different directions. But I keep trying now and again and find myself getting spanked either because I took trades I didn't assess properly in the small window of time available or because I missed an opportunity in one while focusing on another. Longer than very short term is doable for me but, unfortunately, it is the very short term that gives me the best reliability, which is something I value.

When you have to make a lot of confirmations about rules on each trade I can imagine your escaping butterfly analogy alright, been there :)

When I started I was given a few variations around one basic setup using retraces to an EMA 50 mid-band on ES, aiming for 7 ticks etc. MACD, volume to confirm and patience. In fact the approach was more about teaching patience waiting for the setups than them being very profitable. Sniper school in a way.

However I soon realised that that the MACD and Vol indicators were just excess and dropped them and as I simplified I gradually became a true tick(s) scalper like the DOM traders but just using charts. Those guys submerge into a world of price ladders that is a sight to behold however it is... boring? painfully, excruciatingly.. boring? for me haha

I could make more money/better use capital on weekly/monthly charts and yes I do sometimes but I like the buzz of the quick action. You have your gym and I have my screen to workout with.

I don't use MACD and rarely look to volume for go/no-go decisions, although I presently use EMAs as reference points rather than signals. But my setups do require some quick arithmetic and confirmation. Perhaps that's what slows me down, but for the moment it also keeps me out of trouble. Maybe one day...

My mother died at 70, lung cancer from smoking. She did not have the best but certainly not the worst last few months I have seen. Her lifelong practiced techniques to calm panic surges and such helped her a lot.

Separate from that I have from my early 20s been voluntarily involved in a couple of hospices. I have seen very many who found similar ideas to the video useful to calm themselves and prepare. From that perspective whatever works is good. I have however never seen anyone with an advanced cancer recover, some have extended remissions of course.

Rituals seem to help people of all cultures, whatever form they take. Gestures, rosary beads, prayer wheels even (eastern). I myself for exams used to use a technique I got from the old "Silvia mind control method" where when trying to remember something I'd touch three fingers together.

In itself it did nothing but became a habit. From that ritual I got more assured that the memory would surface sooner rather than later. Before the end of the exam hopefully :)

When a group are professional & charging for courses I get hostile and paranoid of course. It is remarkable how wolf-in-sheep's clothing "spiritual advisers" can be and money attracts strong socio/psychopaths. These are often very good actors as they pretend to be normal all their lives.

The nice thing with hospices is one gets to know a few people who actually have something special. A way about them that really does bring great comfort and peace. They won't ever be on Youtube though if you know what I mean.

If it helps recenter people, great. Stress is a killer but I would always seek the most elegant way to dampen it. Sometimes like recently for me, there was an underlying physical cause (potassium deficiency). No amount of meditation would resolve that except perhaps help me realise I was not stuck in the mud and with a little effort and time things would improve again.
