And I also absolutely agree that they shouldn't have practises like that, that personal freedom is one of the most important things in the world

Finally! I was beginning to wonder.. so why spend time defending their right to conduct themselves so horribly? Much better to spend time decrying the lack of humanity implicit in this way of life.. which is not the majority of muslims of course.. who do NOT support the extreme islamic laws.

And I am a european too.. and I have much to criticise in america and my own countries too.. and I am OFTEN to be heard doing so by people who know me! lol I do not defend america's right to execute people who may be innocent.. or too have a crappy health service.. or a worse literacy rate than cuba (ouch that must hurt!) But I also like em a lot and feel I can say these things without fearing having my fingernails pulled out.. I hope! lol

Excellently put, darkhorse. You haven't read Rand by any chance?

Yep, I've read a little Ayn here and there.

I'm not an objectivist, though my views are quite similar to theirs in many areas.

In a lot of these places you can't preach to them even if you wanted to without risk of torture, imprisonment or death.

A culture that hates free speech has something to hide.

Well, I don't believe in preaching anyway, I think that the crimes comitted in the name of the Christian Church speak for themselves.

As for: And if the islam we constantly see and hear about every day is not the true Islam, then those who practice the true and good Islam should stand up and fight and take back their religion's name.

Agreed.

But you said "Let the people decide." That's inconsistent with personal freedom.

As far as the US death penalty and health care, you're sadly misinformed. Please state your sources that show that "many innocent people are killed" or that "so many" Americans don't have health care. I bet you can't because it's a lie. :D

First part: Think of the peaceful revolution in Eastern Europe in 1989.

Second part: Oh puleese, haha.

Rate of innocent executions is overstated, murderers that go free kill more people, not valuing life for life is philosophically inconsistent

US health care best in world overall, rather pay good money for good health than stand in line two months for an exam, don't know about UK but in Canada there was a scandal w/ patients going to veterinarians because the dogs were getting cat scans faster than the people were (no pun intended dog/cat ha ha)- furthermore majority percentage of "poor americans without healthcare" are twenty somethings who would rather spend extra cash on beer and weed than bluecross, the gap is largely decision based

Literacy rate below cuba's is suspect and even if true further evidence that brains are overrated, common sense and hard work far better

I will say though, that the UK has kicked America's ass in terms of quality rock n' roll

OK, you're obviously conceding the argument. :D

And our brand of football is better. :)

(There, that should start an argument.)

Well, looking at the stats, the US has, as compared to Europe, pretty much the worst crime rate you can imagine. The number I remember for inoccents killed is that something like 150 people have been killed or were at least on death row that were later found to be innocent.

But the most important thing is that it hasn't even reduced the huge US crime rates one zilch, and no other civilised country has the death penalty anymore.

As for health care, go to say Germany, Switzerland or Scandinavia to have a health system that is totally compatible with the US, where you get immediate service AND that is fully available to every citizen, absolutely unlike the US.
