Migrant caravan shows up to help Trump get his wall

It is clear that if you can get in- even illegally- that a hearing is required to get you out unless you want to voluntarily leave.

In regard to the "right to entry" that is a far more complicated question. International law says it does, but American law is fuzzy and discretionary. Right as we speak, the Soros Legal Army is flooding the courts to do their thing. We know what the Nineth Circuit will do and, of course, the new way in jurisprudence now, is that if you can get just one district court loon to rule one way, it is binding on the rest of the country.

Anyway you come at it, american law needs to clean this mess up while the cleaning up is good- without regard to International Law. Only Americans - and no one else- should decide right of entry to this country.

I’m not trying to defend bogus lawsuits. My point is that migrants don’t just get granted entry if they seek asylum. Some do and then they have a court date a long way down the road. That is true. But we have always turned away the vast majority of migrants claiming asylum.

Agreed. Importing cheap labor is not bad per se, unless the people you are importing have absolutely no interest in becoming part of your culture. Then it is really, really, stupid to do so.

You get what you pay for.

People don’t like the idea of unskilled labor coming into America but think we should be bringing engineers and doctors by the boatload. That is precisely not the right thing to do and will squeeze well situated Americans in the middle class rather than immigrants building their families from the bottom up, which has worked remarkably well.

That's why illegal entries are the preferred way to go for the "refugees." They are automatically granted a right to a deportation hearing if they are here, knowing full well that that could be months/years away and they will be released to the community in the meantime, often never to be seen again.

The asylum game has many variations. Either way, or all ways, the law needs to be changed.

If you are awaiting a hearing you should be in a detention center. And if you are coming from a central american or south american country, you are not eligible for asylum in the U.S if you have passed through Mexico. Your application for asylum should be to the Mexican government. If you have passed through mexico but think that mexico is a shit hole country and would prefer to live in the U.S because thats where the dollars are, then you are an economic refugee- not an asylum seeker.

Probably would make sense to not muck up the court system then.

Your lefty buddies are the ones mucking up the court.

Trump is the one who got funding for more immigration courts/judges.

Don't confuse the two.

Also, if the proper legislation were enacted, the basis for bogus asylum claims would immediately go away. Thats another way to de-muck the courts.

Immigration is the number one issue among republican voters, as opposed to the republican donor class. This brazen attempted invasion was a perfect opportunity to whip up support for tougher laws. You know, like the dems did with Parkland. So what did we get? Nothing, except for more talk-talk from Trump. The republican establishment doesn't want immigration to be an issue any more than the dems do.

Trump could send military units to the border for training and declare the area a no-go zone. Oh I forgot, our military is only for defending the borders of far-off countries in the middle east, not our own.

In the unlikely event that any meaningful legislation reaches the legislative floor, I sure hope those caravan types show up again and hang out on the fence/wall to help a bit.

Maybe Corey Booker and Kamela Harris will go down to have their picture taken with them, thinking it will help their ticket.

Works for me.
