Midnight rally

Quote from TGM:

Yeah I know they all go up at night. I know someone that does it for the ER2. But it does not matter. I was trying to remember ur YM night strategy. It was pretty straight forward and obviously u did well enough to still be trading...lol

I trade fixed income. But the night strategy is something that I employ from time to time. I have been long stocks for the whole rally and now will probably start deploying the night buyer strategy.

Do you still look to buy at a certain time in the evening? Or was it earlier (like 3:00 pm eastern time)?

I like buying into the close at the classic 3:00 eastern rally and hold it. Seems to be profitable although way into 6:00 am eastern (most of the time).

I like to wait for the 5:00pm cst open. If the market closes near the low of the day, the overnight ramp is even better.

If it closes near the high of the day chances for a dip before midnight are quite high. But at 2:00-3:00am cst..... it's up up and away.

Do you automatically put in a limit to sell so many handles higher? Some type of scale out strategy for profits? Or do you just eyeball it?

is that it? be long over night and you will be raking in the cash? I don't get it. What am I missing? There is always a catch otherwise everyone would do it.

Most have been trained to exit and remain flat. Once the cash opens ES will move in a 5 point range all day.

Trading during the cash session is such a waste of time. Everyone trying to make a couple of points, so stressfull.

This is about the time ES settles into it's 2 point range for 4 hours.
