Midnight rally

well that was a boring night --- come on you MRC you can do better then that. i only had one short re-entry from 80.50 get filled at 79.50 --- that was a flat night.
 
For such a down week haven't the futures been up every am prior to the open.

Futures up overnight but now they are up even more. Looks like more good news.
 
yes we had the 08:30 CPI report give a shot at a pop that would hold, but then after the open she filled the gap --- textbook style!

after that it was time to call it an early weekend! :)
 
Last 2 nights the MR didn't work. The markets gaped down seriously by the morning. I have been following gaps, and I just don't see a signifficant advantage of being just long hoping for a gap up. Gap downs (specially in earnings season) occur just as often.

I am curious, anybody made a statistic on the gap ups vs. the gaps down? Or is it like going long before midnight and holding it only for a few hours???

Anyway, this thread is curiously quiet when gap downs occur... :)
 
Of course it worked - even with the gaps down. You just have to hold it a little longer than normal. :)
