why is midcap outperforming both small and large ?

Investors poured a net $2.16 billion into domestic stock ETFs in February. Midcap ETFs saw a net inflow of $1.88 billion -- the most among all domestic funds. Small- cap ETFs had a net outflow of $981million. Large caps gained $727 million in net inflows.

On a month-to-month basis, it doesn't matter. On a longer-term basis, mid-caps can be perceived as being more attractive takeover targets than small-cap or large-cap stocks.
