Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Officer Steven Ballmer said the world’s largest software company would move some employees offshore if Congress enacts President Barack Obama’s plans to impose higher taxes on U.S. companies’ foreign profits.

“It makes U.S. jobs more expensive,” Ballmer said in an interview. “We’re better off taking lots of people and moving them out of the U.S. as opposed to keeping them inside the U.S.”

Exactly why a tax structural change is needed....ie 10% VAT tax only.....along with a large reduction in govt....

Jobs would flock to the US in droves....along with the best talent in the world....

Absolutely correct! Obama and his minions are simple minded, greedy, power hungry MORONS.

Perhaps if Microsoft moves offshore, SOMEBODY will get a clue... that the Government is going about it all the wrong way.

This is a very serious issue for the USA. If MSFT is going to do this should the increased taxes be implemented, how many other companies will do the same?

The more and the sooner, the better. The US Government needs a swift kick in the balls... maybe THAT will get their attention.

How can an economy experience genuine growth in capital and jobs when the government and tax policy are unfriendly to business?
 
Ahhh, who needs Microsoft anyway? 1/6 of all payroll income in the U.S. comes from the government. When we add enough government jobs to get that to 1/1 the non-government employees will be taxed at 100% just to pay for the government workers salaries. Let's just make all jobs government jobs and start the printing presses. Isn't that actually the direction we are heading?
