Microsoft Ruined My Netscape

I'm a massive fan of the Netscape browser. I love it. I dislike Microsoft.

Anyway, here's my situation. Solutions most welcome.....

13th - 16th Feb. I get a couple of prompts from Microsoft to download the usual updates. I do so. Now, My Netscape wont work properly. It loads ok, but when I try to browse, the CPU usage hits 100% and Netscape just hangs. Page File usage is fairly low at 304 MB. Everything else has been fine since the Microsoft updates, just Netscape.

Could this really be down to the MSFT updates? I'm in the process od uninstalling them now to see if it makes any difference. The MSFT updates have been the only changes to my machine since Netscape stopped working.

I am being forced to post this using MSFT IE.

If you have to use the netscape; try its latest version;

at the best; use firefox as a alternate which is much better than netscape.

Opera is the other one
 
Netscape has been dead since Win 98. Another wonderful Microsoft tactic.

Or did you all miss that BK and then lawsuit. It was snatched up by AOL.

But prior, Netscape was the shiznit.

Mozilla or Firefox is where it's at now.
 
Thanks guys - I may take a look at these other browsers. Bit of a shame.

If anything, it encourages me to look forward to the day when we can have another o/s other than Microsoft for the PC.

I've also used Netscape for years to try & avoid MSFT whenever possible. However, an Adobe upgrade a few weeks ago rendered it unusable at several websites.

Bit the bullet & downloaded Firefox - best browser I've ever used - wish I would have done it a long time ago...
