I logged back in to see what was going on, here's an updated volume bit as of two minutes ago...

MNQ still the leader, hehe. I suspect these numbers will flip by EOD tomorrow.

That's true for US index futures.

for Dax & Nikkei, there is not much volume for its mini/micro.
many people trade big size dax & Nikkei contracts.

I am seeing 100K in mini DAX for friday about the same as big DAX.

Also mini DAX is 1/5th of large DAX.

Had it been 1/10th like the micros are it would have even more volume.

But the notional value is less .... dramatically so.

With this tremendous volatility, MICROS make a lot of sense. Also margins have increased quite a bit.
If you are a trader that likes to average up and down, scale in and out, i would use the MICROS for any account less than $25,000.
