US health care really sucks doesn't it !!! Anyone can pay for expensive care no matter where they live. What really matters is what everyone can get at a reasonable cost in their own country. Canada trumps the US on this easily and has done so since the 1960s.

All that money you people pay for medical insurance and Canadians out live Americans by almost 3 years across the board.

If Hugo Chavez had used his billions to go to the U.S for treatment he would still be President of Venezuela. But no- he went full Michael Moore- and got his treatment in Cuba. What could go wrong there?

I remember back when a canadian provincial premier went to the u.s. for treatment and that little flap went on for a while. Many Canadians took it as either an affront to their beautiful system or, the opposite, "see how shitty our system is that only the suckers and regular folks get stuck with it."

Almost every Canadian knows our medical system is far better then the US one. This isn't even debatable our costs are far lower and we live longer, healthier lives then Americans do. Hate to break this to you but the data doesn't lie.

As someone who live(s) in BOTH countries...
I will say, unequivocally, in my experience, the health care is FAR BETTER in the US.

Sure, Life expectancy is a tad higher in Canada (corollary to quality of health care???) , but outcomes for the many diseases are much better in the US (definite corollary to quality of health care).

I choose to keep more of my money and be part of a great health insurance program in the US ANYDAY over 'free' healthcare, and a 52% overall tax burden.

Of course life expectancy is higher in Canada. Look at all the "higher risk people"* we let into our country (so they can vote DemoCrap... legally or otherwise.)

I was going to use the word "dregs", but most can't help their situation... that still doesn't mean we have to or should welcome their problems across our borders.

Delusion runs deep with you it seems. In particular, this disease outcome theory of yours seems really out there. I would ask why Americans get so many diseases to start with. Perhaps a system that works on a profit basis ( versus a need basis ) results in more clients; call me cynical but again the data doesn't lie but perhaps you might lie to yourself.
 
We have a bunch of poor people who get their calories for fast food and soda.
We also have many middle and upper class people with desk jobs and stress to pay our bills and taxes and mortgages who eat out a lot.

Our outcomes are tied to food and the fact we also try to save everybody from premies they let die in other countries to old people we keep alive with very expensive medical care and drugs.

Our health care system is one of the the best in the world... its our insurance our intrusive and crony govt and taxes which suck.
