Michelle Obama photograph a stark reminder of segregation era

Let me say one last thing and really be done this time. Being that you've saw the Jim Crow era first hand, I think that you believe you're fighting for the same group of good, hard working black people that were trying to get ahead in an oppressive world. I'm warning you...today's blacks are nothing like our grandparents and other generations before us. That's what I'm trying to get you to realize. Today's blacks are lazy, violent, don't value education, irresponsible and immoral....and they try to use the struggle of our ancestors to justify their behavior. You aren't standing up for the same black people. If you talked to black people that are 60 and over, they'll tell you that same thing.

I thought we were "really done" with this, but, since we're not, I suggest you revisit what you've written after reading up on cognitive dissonance. Granted you don't retreat into the "some of my best friends are" position, but your views are just as racist as some cracker. You don't see that, which is fine. I couldn't care less whether a given individual is racist or not as long as he's honest about it. Like Rick Perry, though that has to do with cultural rather than racial prejudice (Mexican is not a race). It's the self-delusion that I find exasperating.

There are tons of white kids out there who are "lazy, violent, don't value education, irresponsible and immoral". None of that has anything to do with race per se, but the white ones don't get pulled out of cars and beaten half to death just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Finis.

"But then age does not necessarily confer wisdom. If one is an asshole, he eventually becomes an old asshole. "

You're obviously proof of this. Actually, this is about the only thing you've posted that made any sense.

I have enjoyed the spectacle of you lecturing a black man about something he's lived and you've only imagined in your liberal fantasies. Then you get owned every time he replies to you.

Washington Post: Eight states, most in the South [e.g., Georgia], have election laws with strict photo ID requirements similar to the Wisconsin law that was ruled unconstitutional Tuesday.

Glad to hear that Jim Crow stuff is all in the past.

There is NOTHING racist or unconstitutional about voter ID

Good post. As usual.

I would add that there are genetic differences among the tribes of man.

Also, (science shows that) it is an innate natural thing that we favor those that are like us.

If only every human on this planet knew these facts, every human on this earth would be better off.

We need to stare down the animal in us and get beyond it.

If Klingons and humans can get along . . .

Very good.

Or Hobbits and Elves.

If only there was an institution that was a union of all the nations. That might be good right? Who could be against such a thing?

Off the subject of this thread, but I wouldn't be surprised if Roddenberry's vision of how things play out were not pretty close to the mark, particularly considering all the wars that are going on simultaneously.
