Cons are always the victims of course no matter what the facts.
Itâs been nearly two weeks since Governor Jan Brewer (R-AZ) vetoed her stateâs SB1062 bill, effectively putting to bed the issue of whether businesses can discriminate against gays and lesbians on the basis of religious freedom. But Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is still up in arms over the decision, accusing the gay community of âbullyingâ the American people during a radio interview last week.
Speaking to conservative host Lars Larson during last weekâs CPAC event in Maryland, Bachmann said itâs been getting âtiresomeâ that the gay community have âso bullied the American people and they have so intimidated politicians that politicians fear them and they think they get to dictate the agenda everywhere.â She added, âWell, not with the Constitution you donât.â
âIf you want take away my religious liberties,â she continued, âyou can advocate for that but you do it through the constitutional process and you donât intimidate and no politician should give away my religious liberties or yours.â She lumped the LGBT community in with âactivistâ judges and the âlawlessâ President Barack Obama as all trying to bypass and ignore the U.S. Constitution.
