Quote from OPTIONAL777:
So he is honest, you think?
When he was doing drugs and doctor shopping, that was honest?
At the very best, Rush is a victim of his own success, a slave to his own Frankenstein legion of dittoheads.
I listened to Rush the first day he went back on the air after his rehab from drugs...and he was not the same old Rush. He was talking about the 12 steps, he was humble, and not critical of the left...and you know what?
His audience didn't like it. They wanted the Rush they knew and love, the one who feeds their incessant need for hatred of the left.
So what did Rush do?
He caved to his audience, and never spoke much again about the recovery process, the 12 steps, the need for rigorous honesty, etc.
He fell back to his primary addiction, i.e. being a popular wealthy talking head...
It is like the Rolling Stones and other old bands who tour for the money...playing the same old songs. The audience gets pissed when a new song is played...they paid to hear the oldie but goodies they grew up with.
A real artist couldn't do that, but when you are in it for the money, you whore yourself out...
