No they are not. Most speak Spanish but that fact doe not make them descendants of Spain. It is like saying that all Americans are of English descent because they speak Spanish.
80% of Mexico is not white but rather a mix of a little bit of white with a lat and I mean a lot of native blood. The mix gets heavier the further south you go.

Furthermore, since Mexico is part of North America Mexicans are Americans as well. Yes they have developed differently than natives of the North East part of this continent for example but still they are genetically the same as other natives of this continent, including the ones from Mexico or Guatemala. Let's just say that they have a lot more right to be on this continent than the rest of us here.

Most Mexicans do not come from Aztecs. There are also Olmecs, Toltects, Zapotecas, Mayas and a host of smaller tribes.They are not from just one tribe as you claim. Some of them especially in the south sill speak their own language and try to maintain their culture.

I have heard many accounts of jobs (as in entire construction projects) being too cheap to the good old white folks, but the mexican or eastern european finds a way to do the job and squeeze a profit out of it.

I work in transportation, used to own my own semi-trucks, and when the going got tough you have to move cheap freight to keep the wheels spinning - and amazingly major us corporations are the ones responsible for the ridiculously low rates.

So I find the "blaming the illegals" game completely bogus.

It's free market at it's finest.

They don't pay taxes, which is the only beef I would have against them. If they weren't accounted for illegally, the treasury would be a lot more flush than it is.

I've been trading with latin american countries for a long time, and I can say that the US need to go back to their foundation principles. Today, we have a bigger government than venezuela, france, spain, brazil and chile and we have the same level of civil rights as those countries. Our tax system is one of the most complicated in the world and doing business inside the US is becoming a real nightmare. America has had a monopoly on commodity markets for century, and we're just giving it to the rest of the world, just like that!.

If we don't realize that It was government intervention in the financial markets, which is now supposed to save the situation, that created this (and past) mess, then we will have the same end of other advanced societies in the past. The bigger government crap, only means one more step toward self destruction.

Thanks to government "regulations" we have the most corrupt and expensive health system in the world, the most corrupt financial institutions in the world (fed, fannie mae etc) and one of the the most corrupt tax system of the world.

People here in the US don't realize that 3 out of the 4 most overregulated industries in the country are the ones in deep, deep, deep shit.

Because of our new big regulatory, protectionism mentality, we are developing a very very corrupt situation at least in the international trading game. Right now a lot of physical commodities trader has been force to do some bribes in order to be able to bring some materials as a contraband due the high tax-regulatory shit.

And That's a very common practice in a third world country.

According to the same source you quoted this is what they state:

"Apart from the recognition of indigenous peoples, neither INEGI nor CONAPO classify the population according to ethnicity. International organizations usually report that between 9%[58] and 17%[59] of the country's population is European, Caucasian or White. Most of these are criollo, the relatively unmixed descendants of the Spanish colonists."


As you can deduct from the above quote since 17% of the population are classified as criollo, "the relatively unmixed descendants of the Spanish colonists", then logically the rest are mixed with the natives. Like I stated in prior posts that is around 80% (giving the 3% to the "other" and assuming they are without native genes.
The 16 to 30% are those who are pure native without any kind of mix. Pure meaning genetically the same as when the Spaniards started plundering and raping.
