Hi,
Jumped in late to the thread...
Dont know where you live, but check out a new facility called OrangeTheory Fitness.I stumbled into one visiting my mom down in Florida, and was very pleasantly suprised. If they have one by you, check it out.
In a nutshell, you should be doing H.I.T. training,High intensity training(and controlling caloric consumption as well as the composition).
You need to work aerobically and ANEROBICALLY.Most people do not trian on both levels.
Working muscles do not get their energy either entirely aerobically or entirely anaerobically. They almost always get their energy from both systems simultaneously, with the balance shifting gradually from aerobic toward anaerobic as exercise intensity increases.
You need true anaerobics in your training . There are three specific types of anaerobic training that you should be sure to include in your training regimen: sprints, plyometrics and weightlifting.Mix it with aerobic training and you are on your path.
