I wish I could share your optimism regarding the effect of technology on the future price of oil, unfortunately with the price of oil so low it is likely funding, private and government, for alt energy will diminish substantially. Oil at $200 is what we needed for a green technology evolution, oil at $20 kills it in a system like ours.
