Memo to Obama - blame the Dems for racism, not Republicans

I have already stated that there is some racism in the democratic party.

So your strawman is meaningless.

The logical answer for why we have no black republicans in D.C. at present, and hardly any over the past several hundred years, is racism by the white republicans...

Still waiting for your link to a quote where I said there were never any black republicans...

The moment any black American shows interest and affiliation to the Republican party, the racially charged Democrat machine starts demonizing them and villifying them - eg, Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, Condi Rice. They (Democrats) are fueling this conflict (often imaginary) of black vs white because it is in their interest to keep it alive and milk the "rewards." The only solution is for the black minority to become bi-partisan, voting for both Democrats and Republicans. In this way, their bargaining power will increase and more blacks will be elected in office.

Democrats are demonized by there republicans all the time.

That still doesn't explain why republican states who repeatedly vote in white republicans, without getting the black vote...don't vote in black republicans.

By the way, Thomas, Powell, and Rice were not elected by the people...

You are doing nothing but making excuses for your party's failure to elect black republicans to the house and senate in D.C., especially in states that are the red states and vote republican senators and congressmen to Congress all the time. Those elected white republicans are not getting the democrat vote, nor are they getting the majority of the black vote...but they are getting elected anyway.

Strawman.

Doesn't go to the issues of why there are no black republicans in the house and senate in D.C.

If the blacks thought Byrd was now a racist, we would see continual demonstrations and complaints from the black community.

We don't see that at all...therefore they don't think he is practicing racism in his leadership position.

Everyone can change, which is what the republican party needs to do and put up black candidates and then elect them to the house and senate so that they black community can see that the republicans actually do want to advance the issues of the black community.

That's not what we see. We see white republicans bitching about blacks, bitching about the democratic party, blaming everyone but themselves for the lack of black republican representation in the house and the senate in D.C.

Right now, the republicans are not electing blacks to the house and senate in D.C.

They, the republicans who are alive and voting, are not electing blacks.

I live in the present, regressives live in the past and point to 2 or 3 blacks in the course of American history as representative of the current situation?

I have to quibble with your definition of "swiftboating." According to Ann Coulter, the term refers to exposing lies told by a liberal democrat. The media has allowed a limited exception during the democrat primary, and accordingly lies told by Hillary can be safely exposed without fear of having the swiftboat epithet applied. Hence, the media circus over her Bosnia sniper story.

What I and lots of other people are saying is that it's become very dangerous from a social perspective for black Americans to declare themselves as Republicans, and that's a major reason that there are so few black Republican politicians. It's a vicious cycle that hurts that minority and it's perpetrated by the Democrats and some racial activists who are essentially holding that community hostage for their political gain. This prolongs the dissatisfaction in that group despite the tremendous progress that our society has made over the past few decades in eliminating racism. In my eyes, that Democratic strategy makes racist extremists like Rev Wright acceptable to many, and therefore is deep, true racism. The responsibility, of course, lies with the black community, who, unfortunately, can't seem to snap out of it yet.
