Memo looks like a nothing burger... Read it here

I heard Chris Wallace say that it has not been determined whether the quote attributed to McCabe was a direct quote or a paraphrase even though it was in quotes.

The house committee transcript would/will show that. If nunes misquoted or played it loose there then the dems should correct the record. If not, well, then, the defense teams are thanking McCabe already.

If anyone sees anything on that, please post.

americans care
the founding fathers cared
the constitution cares
the courts care
Those who care about freedom care

When prosecutors and investigators are allowed to break rules its a lot easier to frame innocent people.
If you don't care now, what happens when republicans are in control who don't care about the constitution and they use fake dossiers to put you in jail or your favorite candidates.

Every liberal would have been against this in the 60s.
If you are not against violations of the govt of the constitution
you are not a liberal your are a pre fasicist / pre commie

Who cares how the information was gotten as long a we got it? Ring a bell?

In any case, I don't see any impropriety here.... Maybe I read something about the FBI paying Steele?

So McCabe's statement is that other issues such as popodouplis would not have been sufficient or are not what they relied upon for the warrant. ie. "without the dossier, there would have been no warrant."

Got it.

Gotcha. You hang your hat on that and we’ll see.

I don't even get that argument from maddow...
the start of the investigation is not the issue.
its the lying to the FISA court to get surveillance.... we have been talking about.

besides...
Papadopolous' criminal act did not take place until 2017 when he lied about the timing of his meetings. if it had been a crime to dig up dirt on your political opponent then hillary and comey and fusion gps and everyone else who paid for russian dirt should be in jail.
Agree with your analysis but would like to add one point. ----Covertsenility doesn't highlight the sentence just prior. You know, the one that said --on the Carter Page FISA application there is no evidence of any cooperation or conspiracy between Carter page and Papadopoulos. --
So then why was this used on the Carter page FISA app? Indeed without an unverified dossier you have no FISA warrant. So, falsehoods and omissions are what secured the warrant so that these miscreant officials could spy and try to get rid of Trump----Disgusting.

It's a nothing burger indeed, we already knew the FBI had exonerated Hillary while framing Trump in the middle of election season. I want to see people sent to jail.

I am still not tracking with this line of argument. Maybe its me.

why do we care when the investigation initiated in July of 2106 if papadoupolis was indicted for lying to the FBI during an interview with them in Feb 2017?

Would it not have to be shown some criminal activity was taken place in July 2016 and the FBI was aware of it.

If they were relying a dossier paid for by Clinton and colluded with Steele who was colluding on Clintons behalf with Russians they must have had nothing at that point in time.

He supposedly provided some info in July 2016.

Behind the memo: The only way to get rid of special counsel Robert Mueller is to get rid of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and President Trump needs a reason to do so.

Nunes has long been working on this narrative that the FBI probe is illegitimate. The suspect memo is his latest trick. The memo is expected to be released through an obscure provision of House rules. It will not contain any of the documents submitted to the court to verify its accuracy. That’s because FISA court proceedings are classified to protect intelligence-gathering techniques and undercover operatives. Is there, for example, other incriminating evidence about Page that justified the warrant? It’s all very cynical.

But it’s really much more nefarious.

Trump fired FBI Director James Comey and replaced him with Wray because he didn’t think Comey was loyal. Now Wray is threatening to resign. The FISA court application was reportedly signed by Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general who appointed Mueller. Trump wants Mueller fired, but Rosenstein is standing in the way. So the only way to get rid of Mueller is to get rid of Rosenstein, and Trump needs a reason to do so. Voila, a memo!

The fog is real, but the picture is clear.
