Melania fraudulently obtained a EB-1 "genius" visa in 2001 ?

We can make jokes about her 'special skills' of course however it is stone cold obvious that she did not qualify for this.

She used to lie about having finished university in Slovenia with a bachelors or masters (both were claimed at differing times), she pulled that from her bio as the campaign started.

So it seems it is conceivable for her to get a visa as a model.. just very unlikely as her only outstanding claim to fame was she was polishing Donald's silverware in 2000.

If however she said she had a BA/MA degree, the one she lied about for more than a decade..

They first part of my family who went to North America did not arrive as illegals, in 1655. I'm sure they killed quite a few over the years as they were not in bondage going there (upper class).

Things were a little different in 2001 for this woman who's husband decided to pick attacking illegals for his stump barking. In 2001 there were laws to break.

The party of law and order? :) Childish.

If she lied about her university qualification, is there a statute of limitation?

Regardless, watch how many honorary degrees etc. she does not get as FLOTUS. A uni can't award her anything due to her lies & qualifications fraud.

The year the future first lady obtained legal residency, 2001, only five people from her home country got green cards through the EB-1 program, according to State Department statistics reported by The Washington Post on Thursday. That year, a fraction of one percent, just 3,376 of more than one million green cards issued, were granted to immigrants with “extraordinary ability,” government data indicates.

We don't need to be coy, Donald or another rich guy she was gold digging pulled strings for her. There is a probable conspiracy (2 ore more people) to commit fraud here?

"
As a candidate for president, Trump said at an August 2016 rally in North Carolina that his wife came into the U.S. legally and promised she would hold a press conference in the following weeks to address accusations that she entered illegally.

"I said to her: 'No no, let it simmer for a little while. Let them go wild, let it simmer, and then let's have a little news conference,'" Trump said.

But such a press conference never materialized."

So on one had all the liberals point to her racy photos from modeling photo-shoots prior her residency in the U.S. as her being unfit to be first lady --- and then on the other hand claim - it is not really likely or "conceivable for her to get a visa as a model" .. since "her only outstanding claim to fame..."

As outlined in the article EB-1 visas are not hard to obtain and you don't have to be a "genius"; the immigration lawyer Cohen has helped squash players, a colored-pencil artist, a "classical music whistler," and an "instructor of magicians" get EB-1 visas. Prior her U.S. residency Melania was a "runway model who appeared on a billboard in Times Square and in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue."

I quoted the most balanced article I could find, my concern is did she use a forged degree? That would be crimina; (or have been).

Many people fake qualifications, it is actually fraudulent and an employer or business partner could sue her for false representation or similar.

Clearly however, strings were pulled by probably Donald, the law bent or broken. Again, I know in a con mind (not saying conservative), if someone else has done something fraudulent, it is ok to do it yourself.

If she lies about the degree... what is the statute of limitations on conspiracy to commit fraud against US immigration?

It is likely that she got her EB-1 Visa for being a leading model. Having a degree (or not) has no bearing on her getting a EB-1 Visa for modelling, and probably was not even listed or viewed as pertinent to the application.

She was far from leading, I used to work for a company that published the likes Maxim & GQ, being on the cover could be a favor to Donald, not a merit based thing.

Regardless, obviously against the spirit of the visa but we are too adjusted to anything Trump involving dirty dealing.

She lied for years to the world and her business partners about her degree. That is not in question. Her five fluent languages? also lies. Was that also on the application to make her seem extra special?

If the FLOTUS conspired to obtain a fraudulent visa it is not salacious interest. She has influence over the 2nd most powerful man in the world (hail Xi, emperor of eternity!).

It is serious and not a cheap con partisan trick manner.
