That depends on how you define news, gwb. News is someone telling you something you didn't already know. Whether you believe the why or the how has to do with your own mental independence. But if I see a Fox show and someone tells me there was a shooting in a mall (as an example), and I wasn't aware of it, that's news to me. When the broadcaster then goes on to tell me why this might be, or who might be responsible and why they did it, or how it could happen, etc, this is all speculation. I may accept some of it or I may not. That has to do with me, not the channel.
Half the time when I get home from work, I turn on O'Reilly (for example), he tells me stuff that has happened in Washington or around the world I may not have been aware of. That's all news.
