Megyn Kelly tells Newt Gingrich to go work on his anger issues

in public speaking using "if" does is a trick. every politician, every journalist, every host and every lawyer who has ever asked a question knows it.

if you had shot the gun in anger.... ____?
if the officer had stated that black lives matter people are terrorists...
if she had taken narcotics and alcohol before picking her kids up from school...

its highly prejudicial in court
and its highly inflamatory in life
therefore
highly unprofessional

Then may I politely suggest you are entirely missing the point and try to make a point that is not relevant to the issue.

Last time I sat for English class the "if" construct does not construe that something is a fact. It introduces a condition on which a subsequent statement lies.

Youu are probably right in terms of the coverage. But that was not the topic of the show.

In my opinion Newt is entirely correct in regards to the assertions he is making regarding the coverage of Trump vs. that of Clinton.

However he did not do very well in making his point in this exchange. I believe he could have done much better without dragging the conversation down to a level about "sex" in the media.

ok... thanks..

i was about to type...

if Kelly had slept with britt hume and roger ailes to get her job. because many viewers have heard those stories and we have a right know.

That is absolutely not true other than your wrong understanding of the English language.

It's not highly prejudicial in court (funny one) , and it's not inflammatory. That is not my opinion but a simple basic fact. Again, usually it helps to go back to the source.

...then you would have committed a grammatical error. You are missing the main statement that you want to base on a condition when you use 'if' . It helps to check out the difference between 'if' and 'when'

Goodness. . . do we really have to debate even this?

Conservative radio host Micheal Berry made a great point this mourning. He said CNN was playing the Newt/Kelly clip over and over again this mourning. He asked why would CNN give so much of their air time to their main competitors video clip? Because it made Newt and Trump look bad.

Because it made Newt and Trump look bad.
It played into the existing prejudices of the CNN audience.

FTFY

Each media outlet is owned and controlled by a handful individuals at the end. That is what the American people voted for and wanted , free wheeling capitalism. Why is anyone surprised that owners of media networks take sides? Some countries have state television stations which suffer from other deficiencies.

you are arguing grammar, we are arguing journalism.

putting "if" before a very prejudicial loaded question or a presupposition on national t.v. does not make it acceptable.

if Obama was born in Kenya then he would not be an American.
lefty journalists do not let that "if" extinguish the loaded part of that question.
