Megathread: Republican Voter Suppression

Republican Judge Allows North Dakota Republicans to Block Native Americans From Voting

Fuck these people, corrupt to their core. They cannot win without cheating, colluding, gerrymandering and voter suppression.

It's best to not let Native Americans vote. Here, let me explain why. Lets say we get invaded by North Korea and they mass murder 90% of all Americans. They leave a few and put us on reservations. Then North Korea has an election. Do you think the remaining Americans are going to vote in the best interest of their conquerors?

And that's why we don't let Native Americans vote. :D:D:D

Good one, better delete this great idea though, what if Mexicans do the same when they take over in a few years.

The legal precedent was that election laws should not be changed close to an election, the judge himself said that the state law was created for voter suppression. He didn't say anything about complying with federal election law.

Maybe you should read the judgement instead of defending every evil thing Republicans do with lame and pathetic deflections.

I asked you a simple question, when the fuck did local Republicans suddenly fell in love with Federal laws, they keep suing the Federal government all the time but this time it's different? Why?

So elections occur every two years for federal positions.... in your humble opinion what is the necessary amount of time before an election to enact a law or regulation (or in this case to properly comply with federal regulation).

Is it 1 year, 2 years, 3 years?

Of course no change in law will satisfy you unless it allows a large number of non-citizens to vote without id or allowing people to easily vote multiple times, or allowing those people in the graveyard to cast one last ballot. For you its all about helping your party to win -- no matter how many federal voting laws you trample in the process.

Indiana has a straight libertarian ticket, so I went and voted. There was an elderly woman with a walker who wanted to vote. They looked at her ID and said its outdated, so she asked what she should do, and they told her to go to the BMV and get a new drivers license and return. They didn't offer her a provisional ballot so perhaps Indiana doesn't do that, but it did seem a hardship for her, which would entitle her to a provisional ballot in many states. Happy Election day all.

Clearly an illegal alien

This wasn't an emergency, if you knew that thousands of Native Americans would be defranchised, you enact discretion and wait till the issues are sorted out - just like BOTH of the judges said.

Let's be very clear here, this law was pushed by Republicans to win the election since defranchising 5000 people when Heidi won by 3000 last time makes sure they win this time.

And there are no 'large number of non-citizens' in ND that vote, there has never been a case there ever for this law to make sense.

As Florida recounts loom, flawed ballot design may be to blame for questionable voting patterns in Broward County

Counties design their own ballots, and Broward put the Senate race in the bottom left-hand corner, below the instructions. That violates guidelines outlined in a 2007 report by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, which said ballots with vertical instructions, like Broward’s, “cannot share column space with contests -- test voters often overlooked races located immediately beneath vertical instructions.”

I thought foreigners interfering in US elections was a crime. Then, foreign trolls trying to influence US elections should be prosecuted as well! You have to ask what these guys motivation to try and interfere with US elections? They are not US citizens but, nationals of other countries. They are in the class of spies and saboteurs no less! And you know what they do to foreign spies in other countries. Take Iran for instance, foreign spies were recently, all arrested and killed!
