If the volume has redundancy (e.g. it's not RAID level 0), you'll need to replace the bad disk and rebuild the volume. Depending on the controller, the data may or may not be available during rebuild.

I managed to find the Dell PERC User Guide, and for physical disk errors the recommendation is to contact Tech Support. I intend to do that after the New Year Holiday, because since this event I have been getting random errors in Sierra Charts, but only in one installed copy (I have a total of 5) so that tells me there is an issue only where that copy is located.
