Meet the COVID Delta variant

So, has the Chicago Teacher's Union started talking about no re-opening schools in fall due to the delta variant yet? Did I miss it or do I just need to give it another few days?

Those fuckers are always looking for an excuse to not work but still get paid.

The Illinois State Board of Education mandated that all school in the fall must be taught in-person. The Chicago teachers don't really have a choice.

Illinois set to mandate full-time in-person learning at public schools this fall
State Supt. of Education Carmen Ayala said “our top priority is our students, and we know that in most cases, in-person learning is in their best interest.”

Yeh, well, as we know, that is just where the games begin.

You can mandate that all classes be taught in person, but if the teachers union is out in the streets or at home protesting and no-shows, that doesnt exactly get you there.

They are all set. Just keep tossing money at them and they rest up for a few months, and then you toss some more or some kind of additional bennies. Rinse and repeat.

The actual problem they seem to have in Chicago is getting the students to show up for in-person classes. A mere 22% of students in Chicago showed up for in-person classes when they re-opened in the spring.

Neither the students nor the teachers care much about education in Chicago. Yes, teachers eventually show up because, as I said, they have demands and if you keep meeting them then eventually you end out with their return, until their next set of beefs. I dont doubt that if you start paying students to show up that might help too.

This is where Lori Lightfoot can use her charms to resolve things.

If she is not having her hair done. Ya know, she has to keep up looks.

They will come up with some happy horseshiite about how they will only return if all racist classes- such as math, english, science, history, are removed.

That's one of the reasons that we must never ever lock-down again for this sort of thing.
