Sigh - we have had a few reports of this. Looked at logs - QT subscribes, then gets quotes, then quotes just die off. Need to get more detailed IB logs for this.

Doing alerts for that type of stuff will not help since the connection is there. IB is just not sending updates.

Bought a new computer (old one was 500mhz) and the price transfer is almost instant. The high CPU usage is gone too and I am using beta 3.5.9d-2. Averaging about 20% with a few quick spikes to 60%.

I've already got it on the calender to buy another computer in March 2007. The headaches I coulda saved myself.

Since I plan to throw it away in 2 years I didn't want a powerhouse. Bought a Dell 3000, 3ghz HT, 500ram, XP Pro, DVD burner for $500 shipped free. Installed a Matrox G450 PCI ($50 Ebay) to run with my existing flat panels.

To my surprise, 2 days after ordering I could have had a 17 flat panel for $50 more. And to think that I payed $2800 for my Gateway 486dx2 back in 1993.

Jerry, thanks for sending another registration key.

Button - you mean connection indicator? That would mean that the connection was terminated. What QT version? What TWS version?

Email us at support@quotetracker.com with that info. Something like that should be easier to identify

Considering that that top of the line is maybe 20 to 25% faster, I would say that this is a powerhouse. Really don't need to go beyond that now. 1 Gig of memory would be nice, though not really needed if you are only doing trading. Other than that, this system is more than enough. the Hyper Threading makes the system VERY responsive even under heavy load.

Y, really :). I bought my computer in December of 2002. Same basic system, 1 Gig of memory. $2700. The pace of processor improvements as well as the need for faster processors seems to be on the decline. At this rate the computer will last me 5 years (a first)

Yes, my old one had 640mb memory. Dell screws ya on extra memory -way overpriced. To top it off, they used up both the slots I have with 2-256. If I add more, I'll have to throw some away :mad:

Bought a 80GB USB pocket hard drive for $120. It's the size of a pack of cigarettes and about the same price as 1 Gig flash drive. Is there a way to clone my new computers HDD to this drive, so I can format in 6 months and have everything as it is now?

instead of cloning the the pocket hard drive, setup your system (word processing, trading software, etc) Once everything is configured, just image it using Norton Ghost. A virgin system should fit on a single DVD (remember you have a DVD burner now :) )

I have recovered this way on another computer already. Works great.
