Sierrachart that is not as indicator-rich as QT,

I have and use both - QT has about 74 indicators and Sierra has about 96. (margin of error +- 2)

Make 'em pretty, Chris

Not that one can really use them all anyway.

Any of you guys using IB with QT know how to turn off the prompt that IB does when you enter a position? For example, when I place a BUY order, IB prompts me for Yes or No...is there any way you guys know of to turn it off...

It's pretty annoying...and one of these days it's going to cause me to miss my entry points due to delay...

Jerry...I do have a suggestion for us IB users -- how about adding support for submitting multiple orders all at the same time...

For some strategies, submitting two or three orders at exactly the same time to the exchange is paramount.

We just added a trading API which would allow others to implement the user interface for this (IB or other brokers). Once we have that fully implemented for all brokers, we will look at doing things like order baskets.

Did you look at the two charts above? If you dont see the value of it, then I give up and will continue to use Ensign.

Your post of the the 2 pics from Ensign is a good reason NOT to
use Ensign. Looks like you have the choice of:

1- Having a 2.5pt ES range taking up the whole chart or:

2- Having the price range taking up about what? 10% of the
chart? And you must have a BIG monitor because I have to use
the scroller to see either the top or bottom of the chart. I have
19-inch monitors so you must have 38-inch monitors in order to
view these charts side by side.

With QT, you can change the vertical axis anytime you want by
making 2.3,4 or more clicks. NO biggie.

P.S. If you took the right pic of your post and put it to scale on a
19-inch monitor the bars would be squished into a 1-inch area.
How can you see this? Can you change the vertical axis with Ensign?
If not, it is not worth $39 or whatever they charge. Especially since
they don't even have floating windows. You have to keep your
charts all in a box that likes to freak out if you get too close to it
with a chart. If Ensign ever gets floating windows it might be a
good charting program.

IF they Medveds ever do change the way QT handles the "so-called"
scale problem there better be a choice to also have it as it is now.

JMHO

Quote from terr:

We implement indicators as we receive requests from users... If the indicator was never requested, it would not be there.

terr,

What I was trying to get at is the fact that other charting packages
have more indicators than QT and reiehaxm was maybe saying
that QT was loaded with indicators when it is the OTHER packages
that are loaded with indicators. And he was saying QT is trying to
be an "eye-candy" charting application which is far from the truth.

As you say the only reason any of the indicators are there is because
of user requests. I should know, I have been using QT since the start.

The choice of indicators in QT is just fine in my opinion... QT rocks!

Don't know why its such a hot topic here all of a sudden

I know why it is such a hot topic. Because Sierra and Ensign users
are used to the way they work and want QT to be like them. I
say just keep using Sierra/Ensign and leave QT alone... :)

Easyrider,

Are you trying to say QT charts look like the chart on the left all the
time?

Maybe once a day during deadzone. And then all you have to do
is add 20-min or more using hot keys. Takes 2 seconds to do it...

You just need to learn the program! :p

Quote from BSAM:

Uh.....I'd really like it to look like any other chart I've seen in my life. QT seems to be so close to greatness, but some things STILL hold you guys down. Why not fix it and charge for it?

THERE IS NOTHING TO BE FIXED... QT is the GREATEST OF THEM ALL!...

:D
