Medved Quotetracker or Sierra

Chartbook? - please describe what you want and I will tell you if its something that can already be done or is being planned. Every program has it's own names for some features, so "Chartbook" does not really mean anything to me.

Apparently you can save a set of charts across all of your monitors
and do this with another setup for different symbols, ect... so
you can flip from one to the other... As far as I know, QT does
not have this...

SierraChart even with an infinite amount of data is about as useful for backtesting as QT. No-one serious about backtesting will use this software for this purpose as it allows only for manual backtesting. For efficient comprehensive automatic backtesting you need to get at least Amibroker.

For the sort of trading I do, only manual backtesting will suffice. But then one can't backtest in QT either, so I'm not sure what your point is.

I like the fact you can type text on your Sierra charts... QT does
not have this yet... :(

You can also save your charts with Sierra...

With QT, you can email them to yours or anyone elses email box...

I think that is the push pin feature at the top of each chart.

You can link all the charts if that feature is activated. When you go to the list of stocks/futures followed, the cursor looks like a pushpin when hovered over the name. Click on the stock name, changes all the charts to that symbol.

If you want different indicators for each symbol, I don't think this is your answer.

Type in "Linking" from the help index for a better explanation.

No, we do not have that, though plan on adding something similar.

Yes, I know about the linking in QT, where all you have to do is
click on a symbol in the quotes section and whamo, you have all
your charts with that symbol. But what Sierra has is the ability to
save different setups. I would like to see this in QT sometime in
the future. We have all mentioned this a hundred times in the QT
board... I am sure this is on the wishlist... :)

One thing I see missing in Sierra is the time at the bottom of the
charts? QT has this... This is for intraday...

But I do like the way you can "scrunch" the Sierra charts from say,
a few months of data down into minute data by using the arrow
keys. Up arrow lessens the timespan, down arrow increases the
time span, and of course the right and left arrows move the
charts front and backwards in time (which QT has)...

Well, dinner time. Got to eat to stay alive!... :p

P.S. All in all, each charting program has it's strengths. I guess it
just depends on what you want from your charting program...
