Without going back and forth naming every Dem/GOP good/bad city-
Just look at NYC under Rudy (GOP) and now Deblasio (DEM).
Rudy cleaned up a cesspool of filth from the subway to Times Square to the parks.
Now after only a few short years under lib lunatic DB there are bums, junkies, homeless, camped out on subway cars, sleeping on the sidewalks, shooting up in the neighborhood parks, etc.
Piss, shit, needles, garbage, is everywhere now. And the police have been instructed NOT TO DO ANYTHING.
Just stating the facts.
In this instance GOP policies cleaned up the city and within a few years liberal policies have turned NYC back into a filthy crime ridden dump.
Forget crime. I’ll even give you that socio-economic factors helped. The going back and forth is my point, it proves that mismangement by either party leads to a poor city with high unemployment or crime, it is not a party trait.
Let's stop ignoring the faults of all politicians by pretending it is inherent in only one party. Only the Dems lie too I guess. Only the Dems spend a lot I guess.
Rudy v. Deblasio is not GOP v. Dem issue but you want to make it one because it fits your narrative.
• Violent crime in New York began falling three years before Giuliani took office in 1994, U.S. Justice Department records show. Property crime began falling four years before. The decline accelerated during his administration, but the "turnaround" he claims credit for started before him.
• New York was no anomaly, but was part of a trend that saw crime fall sharply nationwide in the 1990s, particularly in big cities. The city with the best record for reducing violent crime during this period? San Francisco.
• Independent studies generally have failed to link the tactics of the Giuliani administration with the large decrease in crime rates.
Rather, many criminologists believe the decline in New York, as in Chicago, San Diego, Miami and elsewhere, was the result of a complex mix of social and demographic changes, including a break in the crack cocaine epidemic, an improving economy, and increased prison terms for proven lawbreakers.
SO let's not give Guiliani all teh credit and DB all the blame as though it is tied to party...
This is not difficult to prove. Usually it stems from a lack of enforcement from local police. If police do not remove a homeless person's tent on the side walk or arrest them for littering by leaving trash or even public urination and defecation then things slowly start to look like LA and San Francisco. What specifically liberal policies democrats has lead to trash build up and homelessness?

There shouldn't be a dime spent on foreign aid or any illegal immigrant until every homeless Vet has a permanent roof over their head and a hot meal in their stomach.

but the GOP keeps slashing vet benefits, and throwing them in jail for vagrancy though?
