McDonalds misses earnings. Why? They said inflation !

So we all know inflation is an issue but when you start hearing big companies complaining about it on earnings calls Wall Street really notices. This just came out this morning.

Ten cheeseburgers (I microwave them later for snacks) at MCD cost me about eleven dollars a few years ago, now it is about eighteen dollars.

Meaning they don't find desperate burger flippers for minimum wage anymore

I stopped in MCD , auto shopping in a next door state, ordered a hamburger.[I asked can i get a hamburger for breakfast,LOL?? Yes you can, it takes a few minutes.]

And you know what really sux about this? Even if inflation drops back down to 2%, and the commodity input prices drop to pre-pandemic levels...They will never lower the price on the menu. They will just be eating up that extra margin, WHICH WILL COME post-inflation.

When was the last time anyone has seen a drop in regular every-day menu prices? Like, never. Instead they pass them off as limited-time discounts. Once that temporary discount wears off, people then think that back to the higher prices is the new normal.
