Yep. There wasnt a 24 hour cartoon network 20 years ago, encouraging kids to sit in front of the TV all day. When i was a kid, there was only 2 hours of cartoons on TV from 3pm to 5pm (and sometimes only til 4:30) After that, there was nothing on, so you had to go outside and play. Not anymore. There is ALWAYS some childrens program on TV for them to watch now which of course mcdonalds advertises on every 15 minutes making them hungry.

So true. A "happy meal" for me was my mom making my sisters do the dishes...normally that was mine and my brothers' job.
When I was kid, you wouldn't find us inside. We were up and out the door at daylight in the summer. I was so skinny you could count my ribs. Ate well, just burned it off playing, swimming, fighting, building forts, attacking other kids forts etc...
